The official blog for the GARO franchise has revealed new information about the coming movie. The upcoming film will be titled <GARO> TAIGA and seemingly work as a prequel to the original series, following the father of series protagonist Kouga Saejima. Alongside a new teaser image came the announcement that the movie will be releasing in Japan on the 17th of October.
Taiga was last seen in the events of movie GARO: Moonbow Traveler where he appeared as a young boy to help his son and grandson. At the end of the movie he returned to his adult form before returning to his place in the afterlife. Taiga is a recurring character in the original GARO series, appearing as a spirit to help his son. Actor Hiroyuki Watanabe portrayed Taiga in the franchise but sadly passed in 2022. There is no confirmation on who will be playing Taiga in the coming movie.
