Bullet Train Explosion releases today, April 23rd, on Netflix. The movie is a remake of the 1975 movie The Bullet Train and focuses on passengers and government authorities trying to stop a bomb from detonating on a shinkansen train headed to Tokyo. Similar to the movie Speed, if the train were to slow down it will detonate the bomb, forcing the government to make a choice of stopping the train early to spare Tokyo or allow it to continue into the city in a bid to save the passengers onboard.
This remake is directed by Shinji Higuchi, who tokusatsu fans will know as the director of Shin Godzilla and Shin Ultraman, having worked closely with Hideaki Anno on previous projects. He also directed the live action adaptations of the Attack on Titan series and the Ghibli inspired Kaiju short, Giant God Warrior Appears in Tokyo.
Bullet Train Explosion can be watched on Netflix starting
today.
